What brands of wired cameras do you recommend?
I have experience working with pretty much every system currently on the market, the ones I most often install are Ring, Lorex, Reolink, LTS, Ubiquiti, Hikvision, and for a monitored system Deep Sentinel. Which one I install depends on clients needs, I do love Reolink for their diverse array of cameras that allow for a customized home plan.
-
Which Reolink camera system do you recommend?
I normally prefer the 8 pack of Reolink cameras that you can find on Amazon. These are very solid cameras and usually at a pretty good price point. You can normally find them for about $950 on Amazon with a coupon code they provide right under the product description. A nice feature of these cameras is that the NVR they come with has a storage capacity of 4TB.
You can check my link tree to see a full list of recommended systems.

What wireless cameras do you recommend?
I am a huge fan of Ring products. Currently there are no other wireless cameras that outperform Ring in terms of versatility. You have doorbells, wireless solar cameras, floodlight cameras to name a few. While they do have a monthly cloud storage fee of $10, the features that you get really get you more than you pay for.
Visit ring.com to checkout their current line of products and see where they fit in your home!
If you would like more options some, Arlo and Eufy are great alternatives. Look through my linktree to find out more.

How do you run the wiring when installing a wired system?
When we have a single story home I can normally run all the wiring through the attic and then drop the wiring into a room or closet where we have access to power. Double story homes are a bit trickier because the attic is very high up. Typically you want the cameras at the level of the first floor. I normally try to work out of the garage and use conduit piping to hide as much wiring as possible when dealing with double story homes. I do have various methods on getting any double story home properly protected.

My wifi is very weak, why should I install wireless cameras?
I can solve this issue using a mesh wifi router system. It basically uses your current wifi and creates a new secure network. You then place satellite routers around your home and the signal strength of your internet is greatly increased. This normally solves any issues customers have with wireless wifi operated camera systems.
-
Can you buy the cameras for me?
I operate my business differently than others. I don't sell or purchase any camera equipment for my customers. When you purchase a system through Costco or Amazon personally, you get the warranty and return benefits. Most other camera companies like to have you buy the equipment through them. This leads to high service call fees down the road when if you had just purchased the equipment yourself, you could avoid those issues arising.
-
What is your service area?
I service the entire bay area and any surrounding areas within an hour drive. Usually the furthest I will go out is Monterey, Marin, Vacaville or Livermore. Most of my customers are usually local to me in Santa Clara County.
-
Do you offer free consultations?
If you live in Santa Clara county I can almost always offer a free consultation. Or if I'm in a specific city for an installation I can normally squeeze in a free consultation. Any other time it will usually be a $60 trip fee.
-
Do you provide discounts on price?
I usually do not. I charge flat rates for all of my labor so each customer gets the same rates. It also allows for more predictability in cost and confidence in pricing. I like to plan out everything before hand so my customers don't have any surprises when it comes to price or installation plans. Every situation is different so please contact me further if you have any questions about pricing!
-
Do you warranty your work?
Yes! I offer a 1 year free labor warranty. I will only charge to come back and install/move equipment. I can tweak or swap any installed piece of equipment and waive any trip charge. It is rare I have to do service calls after any installation but my warranty has you covered. After the year is over I simply add a trip fee but usually can service the work for free or at a low hourly rate.
